Behind the scenes
The Kitchen was founded by hard working husband and wife team, Ian Jones and Shirley Wu; both well known in the Shenzhen hospitality industry.  After the success of their award winning Thai restaurant in Shekou they recognized a gap in the market and created The Kitchen in Coco Park, Futian; right in the heart of the entertainment district.

Partnering with Executive Chef Justus Jennings from San Francisco the trio created an iconic restaurant focused on providing excellent Western cuisine with a value for money proposition second to none in the city. Indeed The Kitchen Futian won the Best Restaurant in Shenzhen in 2014.

The Kitchen Bantian was created after two years of research and planning brought on by existing clients wanting quality western food catering at lunchtime nearby their offices in the industrial district.

Successful businesses revolve around successful people and Shirley was able to persuade her brother Bobby - an award winning chef to join us at Bantian. Their younger brother "Tiger" now helps Bobby produce quality lunches for our growing corporate lunch box busness.
